Dictionary Data and Classification Labels

Kanji Branch Study refers to public dictionary data for vocabulary and readings. Classification labels help learners choose a practice range, but they are supplementary study information and not an official complete test list.

Public dictionary data used by the tool

Vocabulary and reading information refers to public dictionary data including KANJIDIC2, JMdict, and JmdictFurigana. The tool organizes kanji, words, readings, and furigana from these sources into a form suitable for the learning screen.

  • KANJIDIC2 provides reference information about kanji
  • JMdict provides vocabulary and reading information
  • JmdictFurigana provides word-level furigana information

How school-grade and JLPT labels are used

School-grade references and JLPT N5-N1 labels help learners estimate difficulty and choose a practice range. JLPT labels are supplementary learning classifications. They are not an official complete syllabus, an official test range, or a guarantee of passing.

  • School-grade labels provide a reference for basic kanji
  • JLPT N5-N1 labels provide an approximate difficulty guide
  • The labels do not claim to be an official complete list
